The 2nd AsCNP was hold in Grand Hilton Seoul Hotel, Korea in this Sep. 23-24th. The theme of the current congress was “Asian Collaboration on Neuropsychopharmacology and Neuroscience”. The two-day congress included six special lecture, 17 symposium, and 279 posters provided by our Asian researches.
Dr. Raymond Chan of the Neuropsychology and Applied Cognitive Neuroscience (NACN) Laboratory and the Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology, delegated Ms. Qing Zhao, a master degree student, to represent NACN Lab to attend this congress. Ms. Qing Zhao submitted a poster titled “Further Exploration of Clinical Utility of Neurological Soft Signs: Discrimination of Bipolar Disorder from Major Depression.” In this poster, it was found that the bipolar disorder showed more deficient in Neurological Soft Signs (NSS) than the major depression disorder. While the NSS showed by the major depression was not significantly different from their healthy controls. The 2nd AsCNP selected totally 35 outstanding posters out from a total of 279 submitted posters, and Ms. Qing Zhao was awarded a “Young Investigator Fellowship Award” for her innovative findings.
The 3rd Congress of Asian College of Neuropsychopharmacology will be held in Beijing in 2012.
