Dr. Raymond Chan of the Neuropsychology and Applied Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory, and Key Laboratory of Mental Health, of the Institute of Psychology, was invited to deliver his team’s work on prospective memory in schizophrenia at “The first International Symposium on Prospective Memory and Health: Promoting Understanding and Treatment” in Brisbane in February 25th-27th 2009. During this symposium, Dr. Chan led one of the sessions to explore international collaboration consortium on prospective memory across different countries. We have also come up with an agreement on subsequent follow up of potential issues in prospective memory and to hold a regular international symposium on prospective memory hosting by the representatives attending this symposium. Meanwhile, we have started up some preliminary tools development for cross-cultural multi-site collaborative research purposes. We hope that we can achieve a greater impact of prospective memory research in the near future. Invited speakers included international renowned researchers in prospective memory such as Drs. Matthias Kliegel, Lia Kvavilashvili, Judi Ellis etc.
