The Vice-chancellor of Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia Visited the Institute of Psychology to Strengthen Further Collaboration between the Two Institutes

The vice-chancellor of Griffith University, Professor Ian O’Conner, and his delegation visited the Institute of Psychology on Sept 12th 2011. The Deputy Directors, Professor Jianxin Zhang and Professor Xianhong Sun, represented the institute to meet up with Professor O’Conner’s team. The main purpose of this visit was to strengthen the existing collaboration between the two institutes and to explore further research possibilities at different levels, including students and scholars exchange, and grant applications. During this meeting, Ms. Richu Wang made a presentation on behalf of Professor Zhang to introduce the Griffith team to our institute. Dr. Raymond Chan delivered a progress report on collaboration to date between Griffith Health Institute and the Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology.

Both sides agreed that this visit was a great experience and success. They found the existing collaboration between Professor David Shum and Dr. Raymond Chan’s teams very productive and impressive, and they had further identified a number of directions for joint research between the two research teams. Furthermore, they believed that this visit will extend and strengthen the rapidly growing collaboration between Griffith University and the Institute of Psychology.

The Griffith team also included Professors. David Shum, Zhihong Xu, Xiangdong Yao, and Mr. Thomas Toh and the Institute of Psychology team also included Drs. Ya Wang and Jia Huang.
