Beijing, China – June 28, 2012. John Wiley & Sons, Inc., today announced the launch of PsyCh Journal, China’s first international psychology journal. The new journal will be published in partnership with the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPCAS), China’s national psychology research institute.

PsyCh Journal is devoted to the publication of advanced research exploring basic mechanisms of the human mind and behavior. The journal provides a forum for academic exchange and a “knowledge bridge” between China and the world by showcasing high-quality, cutting-edge research related to the science and practice of psychology both within and outside of China.

The editors of PsyCh Journal are Lars-Göran Nilsson from Stockholm University and Kan Zhang from IPCAS. The editorial board consists of world-renowned psychologists from both within China and abroad, representing a true cross-section of the global psychological community.

“This is a very exciting time for psychology in China,” said Xiaolan Fu, Director of IPCAS. “We are delighted to launch China’s first international psychology journal in collaboration with Wiley. The journal will give us the opportunity to showcase the best psychological research from China and around the world, and will form a key part of the Institute’s publications program.”

“PsyCh Journal is a truly ground-breaking journal, filling an important niche in the global psychological literature,” said Philip Carpenter, Vice President & Managing Director, Social Sciences and Humanities, Wiley. “The journal’s launch is a milestone in the continuing development of Chinese psychological scholarship on the world stage, and will provide a vital platform for the dissemination of knowledge from within China and from across the globe.”

PsyCh Journal will join Wiley’s prestigious portfolio of international psychology titles which includes Child Development, the top-ranked journal in educational psychology, and Personnel Psychology.

As part of this partnership Wiley and IPCAS will inaugurate a Prize for Excellence in Psychological Science. The prize will award $5,000 to an outstanding Chinese author published in either PsyCh Journal or Acta Psychologica Sinica, the Institute’s Chinese-language journal.
