The 4th mental health conference was held from September 18th to 21st2014, in Jiangsu Institute of Nuclear Medicine. The theme of the conference was ‘Stress and Mental Health’. The conference was co-hosted by the Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the WUXI Mental Health Center. More than 80 experts and academics from 23 universities and hospitals attended the conference. Prof. Sheung-Tak Cheng from the Hong Kong Institute of Education gave a plenary speech on “What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger: a Hypothetical Model of Alzheimer Caregiver Resilience”. Dr. Brain J. Hall from University of Macau and Dr. Jon D. Elhai from University of Toledo also made a note on the topic of “the Role of Social Resources in Posttraumatic Adaptation” and “Assessment, Structure and Mechanisms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder”. Fourteen experts also gave special lectures about the early identification and intervention of mental disorders and psychological trauma. This conference provided a unique opportunity for many researchers to share and exchange their expertise in mental health.
