Dr. Raymond Chan from the Neuropsychology and Applied Cognitive Neuroscience (NACN) Laboratory, and the CAS Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology has recently received the 2022 Arthur Benton Mid-Career Achievement Award from International Neuropsychological Society (INS). This award is given to recognize scientific achievements of scholars at the mid-career level. The panel of this award recognizes Dr. Chan’s substantial contributions to the understanding of psychopathology of mental disorders, in particular schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and the successful translation of neuroscience to clinical practice. The conference will be held in Barcelona, Spain from July 6-8th 2022. Dr. Chan will receive this award at the opening virtual ceremony and will make a 60-min video-taped keynote speech. The INS was founded in 1967 as a scientific and educational organization dedicated to facilitate communication among the scientific disciplines which contribute to the understanding of brain-behaviour relationships. The mission of the INS is to promote the international and interdisciplinary study of brain-behavioural relationships in both healthy and clinical populations. The Society currently has currently more than 4700 members throughout the world and from various areas of practice. Dr. Chan has served as the regional representative for the INS since 2004. He is a member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts, recipient of the SIRS Global Schizophrenia Award, the Distinguished Young Investigator Award of the National Natural Science Foundation China, the Beijing Leading Talents in Science and Technology, the Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and among one of the highly cited researchers in 2019 by Clarivate Analytics.
