Summary:Why should you help a competitor? Why should you contribute to a public good if free-riders can take advantage of your generosity? At the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics at Harvard University, we study mechanisms that help promote cooperative behaviour in human interactions. In this presentation, I will share highlights from our own work as well as a body of theoretical and experimental literature (focusing primarily on the latter). This talk is also aimed at stimulating and generating ideas for future work and collaborative projects between the Institute of Psychology and the Program for Evolutionary Dynamics.
