CAS Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology
Research Mission
To address the national needs of improving people’s mental health and focus on the scientific goal of "the development, maintenance and promotion of mental health", the laboratory aims to investigate the brain mechanisms of mental disorders, explore their development rules and influencing factors, and develop innovative technologies of identification and intervention for common mental disorders, construct basic research database and service platform for mental health. The mission of the laboratory is to answer the basic scientific questions about how to improve the quality of the population and the level of physical and mental health at the psycho-biological-social level, and establish a leading and exemplary mental health research platform.

Research Team
The laboratory has a high-level mental health innovative research team. The team members have a wide range of research backgrounds, including psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neurobiology, genetics, neuroimmunology, and physiology. The laboratory currently has 70 faculties and staffs, including 19 professors, 32 associate professors, 15 assistant professors, and 4 support staffs. There are 13 principal investigators (PI) in the laboratory, including one selected for National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, two selected for Excellent Young Scientists Fund, one selected for Beijing Nova program. Four people receive LU JIAXI Award for Junior Scientists, and eight people are members of Youth Innovation Promotion Association, CAS. The lab also has a CAS Interdisciplinary Innovation Team.
