Participation in social groups and quality of life of old adults: Empirical and intervention studies based on a perspective of network-behavior dynamics

Based on a perspective of network-behavior dynamics and using community social groups and university of the elderly as the basic units of social network analyses, the project attempts to examine the interaction mechanisms between social network and quality of life, and explore effect of network intervention on quality of life of members of social groups. A longitudinal design is used to collect dynamic data on whole networks, quality of life, social relations outside of specific social group (including family, friendship, and nieghborhood relations). This project will improve ecological validity of research on quality of life and comprehensive effectiveness of community management and health invervention for the elderly.
