Central plasticity changes after spinal cord injury Open program supported by the Key Laboratory of Spine and Spinal Cord Injury Repair and Regeneration (Tongji University), Ministry of Education PI:Yazhuo KONG Although a large number of studies have shown that spinal cord injury can lead to plastic changes in the function and structure of the spinal cord and brain, the mechanism behind these changes is still unclear. This subject aims to evaluate the patient's acute, subacute, chronic phase of spinal cord injury, combining clinical assessments, structural and functional MRI of the brain and spinal cord. We try to explore different factors related to motor and pain processing in different evaluation phases. Brain and spinal cord MRI might provide an effective evaluation method for post-injury diagnosis and marker for different stages of injury.
